Breakfast - the most important meal of the day! But do you think its worthwhile waking up an extra 30 minutes to make it? It seems to get harder to make time to cook, but breakfast can really be made in 15 minutes if you plan it right. On the left is a layered egg, bacon and asparagus plate which I pulled together before work one morning.
- Put a non-stick pan on the stove set on a low flame, with a thin film of oil.
- Put slices of bacon down and let them slowly fry and the fat render off.
- Rinse the asparagus spears and snap the woody ends off.
- Once the bacon is cooked (a), remove from the pan and immediately put the asparagus spears into the hot pan to cook.
- When the spears have turned a dark green, remove them from the pan (b).
- After wiping the pan down with a paper towel, add some fresh oil and fry the egg (c).
Put (b) down on the plate, place (a) on top, and add (c) and ta-da!
