review: curry mee in lucky garden

I love a good bowl of curry mee, but often I find that coffee shops tend to serve very diluted soups, not of a thick enough consistency to cling to the noodles.

This corner stall tucked at the back of the middle coffee shop on Jalan Ara Kiri, Lucky Gardens manages to stand out from the crowd. The curry is very full-bodied, and still slightly grainy in texture from all the spices and santan that have been blended into the soup. As another plus point, the owner includes those chunks of cubed pigs' blood in the soup - something that is fast becoming a rarity, especially since Lorong 100 Tahun overhauled its kitchen a few years ago.
